Lori Gustafson has been the Activities Director since the facility opened in 1997. She is a part of the Care Plan Team. She has two full-time assistants and several part-time assistants, who help enrich the activities offered and are available for one-on-one conversations and activities. Faithful volunteers from the community help enhance the activities offered, as well.
Recognizing that the needs for social contact do not diminish with handicaps or age, we provide well rounded programs for varied interests and abilities. Group and individual pursuits, hobbies, clubs, and organizations are recognized. All residents are encouraged to take part. When the weather is nice, we take advantage of the opportunity to do activities outside with interested residents. We have an arboretum behind the facility, which is a great place to enjoy the scenery and flowers together.
We have an activities calendar displayed throughout the facility and in residents' rooms. We also have the activities listed on the website as well. Click on the link to the left- "Activities Calendar" for the monthly calendar!
Some of our optional activities include: BINGO every Monday, Hymn Sing every Wednesday, Happy Hour every Friday, monthly birthday parties, manicures, Church services on Sunday afternoons, Wii Baseball, and bowling and lots lots more! From time-to-time we have students from the local high school, middle school, and elementary school come and lead an activity and/or do a craft together, sing together, and even have parties together.
